A Cold Case Of Tears.
I'm not talking delicate, ladylike dabbing of eyes here but the puffy, red eyes and sniffing while tears and snot mingle cheerfully, having a melee under my nose.
I think it's a mix of the pointless or stupidity of the death, the loss of life which normally wouldn't affect me but then they play the song. The song that just tears you apart and that's it I'm off.
It's always a good song that really fits in with the murdered victim and his/her life.
I love it.

Seaking A New Job

Robin has to change his job, the wages have been cut so severely that we can't exist let alone live on the money we would have coming in. We don't go out or have any luxuries as it is (no! internet isn't a luxury it's a necessity!).
He has two job options and as this is us there is a difficulty or two in him doing either of them.
The first job pays what he is on now so the money hasn't gone up but the hours are less and he would be able to see our son more. The bad side is that he would be gone before our son has to leave and after his return trips to school. I can't walk as far as even halfway to school and my mobility scooter is dead. My son obviously can't walk himself to school seeing as he's four years old and even if he was older I wouldn't want him to walk alone no matter how quiet this village is or how good his orienteering skills were, map and compass anyone?
Oh and there's this point which I'm really keen on he will be delivering....... wait for it....... you're gonna love this

Oh yes!
Can't you just smell the stinking stench aroma?
BUT there is a bonus
The cat will love him to bits!
The second job is again driving and making deliveries, we won't know the money till his interview tomorrow but it will still mean difficulty with the school run and will mean nights away.
Why is nothing ever simple?

Schlurpy no burpy!
I can't burp. I drink fizzy drinks but I'm unable to burp to get rid of the bubbles and gas. (No, I can't fart either!)
I've now got this mass of air trapped just under my ribs.
It's uncomfortable and sore yet I can't get rid of it.
Rennies and other antacids don't work, I've spent a day only drinking milk to neutralise whatever milk neutralises yet it's done nothing.
I desperately need to burp or fart. I'm so uncomfortable now I don't care what I have to do to get rid of this trapped wind.
I think that where I've always considered burping gross, a really bad act or lack of manners that now, when I need to I've conditioned myself not to.
I never, ever thought I'd ask this but
"can someone help me burp?"

A Rose By Any Other Name (is still a rose)
I have a diagnosis finally.
I have a name for some of my health problems and sundry pains.
The doctor has ideas on how to help me live with this.
At last there is light at the end of the tunnel so to speak.
I have osteoporosis.
People are more susceptible to osteoporosis if:
they have been on certain immuno depressant medications.
they have diabetes mellitus
they have a low bmi
they have digestive problems like Crohns or severe ibs
they have psoriasis
All of those are me!
While a diagnosis of osteoporosis isn't a good thing. It's something I will have forever after all but it is a diagnosis. Now, I have a name for the pain and aches, I feel kind of validated. When I had no diagnosis I felt like some people thought it was all in my head or that I was exaggerating rather like a cold becoming man flu.
Now, I feel believed, validated almost.
I feel better even though it isn't exactly good news.
I now need to think up some other phrase to go on my grave "I told you I was ill" just doesn't have the same ring to it now I have a diagnosis.

Be nice to me and I'll sue!
From next Sunday it will be an offence, punishable by unlimited compensation orders, to allow customers to chat up bar staff.
Now to me this has always been part of the job. You serve drink, sometimes food and try to make sure the drinker enjoys his time in the pub by talking to him and yes that involves looking interested and accepting / giving compliments.
From April 6, employers will risk being sued if a bar worker or waitress complains of being called "love" or "darling", or if staff overhear customers telling sexist jokes.
Sexist jokes are par for the course and asking for "another pint please love" is just a general, day to day phrase. It's just a name and let's face it most of us have been called worse.
I can't imagine asking for compensation because some person (with alcohol in them) dared to call me "love". It's hardly in the same class as inappropriate touching or falling and breaking a leg. It definately isn't an insult either
Lawyers are advising pub owners to cover themselves by displaying warning notices declaring: "Harassment is not tolerated."
I can't see a name such as "sweetheart" or "love" being a form of harassment.
To me, harassment is nastyness, violence maybe, just general unkindness really. It has never been a nickname plopped onto the end of a sentence with no malicious thought behind it.

Future Transaction.
It's taken from the U.K newspaper The Daily Telegraph
The article in it's original context can be read here
A government stealth warning
By Oliver Pritchett
What could possibly lead you to believe that we might sell cigarettes in this establishment? This is a carpet warehouse, as all may plainly see, and, as usual, only a few days remain before our sensational bargain sale must end. Yes, I am well aware that Dawn Primarolo, the Minister of State for Public Health, wants to ban the display of cigarettes in shops, but I cannot see how this would affect us here, as we are merely dedicated purveyors of superior shag pile.
So a friend sent you? And he suggested you might ask for a nice healthy orange, making those curious inverted comma signs with your fingers. I suppose I might be able to help you there. Would that be a low tar or a medium tar orange? Tipped or untipped? With the purple skin? And would you like it to come in 20 or 10 segments? There you are, sir, and here's a box of matches, in case you wish to set fire to your orange.
Is there anything else I can help you with today? We do have a nice selection of hearth rugs. A packet of ready-salted crisps? Good heavens! Does such an item even exist in this day and age? I believe it is still possible to buy a packet of salted nuts, but you have to be accompanied by a responsible person, such as a JP, a bank official, a member of the clergy or a GP, and you must have proof of age and proof of your address in the form of a bank statement or two recent utilities bills.
But ready-salted crisps? You've really stumped me there. Perhaps if you looked in that box over there, the one marked "Extremely Sensible Toothbrushes", you might see something to interest you. I'll be looking the other way, studying my pattern book and admiring our range of classic Axminsters. If you do happen to find something in the box to suit you, just leave the money next to the till. Any sum you feel is appropriate, bearing in mind the scarcity.
There's something else, is there? I'm sorry, sir, I can't make out what you are muttering. Whisper it to me. I get it - a white loaf. And there's something special about this white loaf. Rhymes with "enticed". Ooh, sir, that really is a tricky one. It's really hard to lay one's hands on an enticed white loaf these days. The wholemeal police are everywhere and they're cracking down.
What I can do for you, seeing that you're a good customer, is write a little note to a certain friend of mine. Take this note and go down the street, then turn left into the alley by the recycling bins and you should see a tall thin man with a short fat dog.
You say to this man, "I'm glad I'm not in Basingstoke on a day like this." If he replies, "I had an aunt who lived in Basingstoke and she said they had lovely sunsets," you know you've got the right chap. That's Cholesterol Bob. Give him this note and he may be able to accommodate you. And, by the way, Cholesterol Bob can put a nice bit of excessive wasteful packaging your way, if you feel you'd like some. A lot of my clients go to him for their excessive packaging needs.
Before you go, sir, there's something I'd like to mention. I can tell you are a man of the world and I thought you might be interested in a little intimate revue we put on in the back of the warehouse on Saturday nights. It's all very tasteful and artistic. What happens is we turn on a switch and there's this light with an old-style, short-life, high-energy 60-watt bulb.
Completely naked. And for any gentlemen who have a taste for something a little stronger, we also do a 100-watt bulb. Just thought I'd mention it. If you're interested, go to the back door on Saturday night, give two slow knocks and three quick ones and when they answer, just ask for Pearl.
Wait a minute. Act perfectly normally and don't look up. I just spotted Dawn Primarolo outside the window. Pretend you're looking at the book of carpet samples. Keep nodding, look interested.
You see this is quality carpet, sir. Lovely tufting work. The pattern is swirly and bold, so you'd need some really forceful curtaining to balance it and a flowery sofa cover would be completely lost.
OK, I think Dawn has gone now. She's been around a lot lately because there are reports of chocolate dealing going on quite openly in this street.
One more thing before you go, sir. I've got something that would suit a person of discernment such as your good self. It's very rare, a collector's item, in fact. There you are, sir - a photograph of a doughnut. Full colour and gloss finish. Very realistic, very detailed. Look at that icing sugar. As you are such a good customer, I can let you have it for £80, but you've got to promise not to show it to anyone under the age of 18.

Dr Seuss is my doctor

I went to see my family doctor about my black out. I don't want it to happen again like when I'm halfway down the stairs or on my own so best foot forward and all that, I went to see my doctor.
I was
I told him about the 4 days of constant diarrhoea and the blackout.
Then he questioned me on
My diabetes and sugar levels.
If you are a diabetic then no matter what is wrong with you all the doctor will care about is your diabetes. It could be a broken arm, migraine or even toothache but all the doctor will hear is "diabetic".
It drives me mad!
The doctor decided that the blackout happened because my sugar levels went too low.
The fact I ate nothing after that would have raised them and that I did not end up with a low sugar attack proves
He would not hear any of this, he had made up his mind and nothing would change it.
His recommendation:
Don't take any more insulin.
That's like telling an asthmatic not to breathe any more air.
The scary thing is this man is in control of my health.
Miracles do happen.
The woman is that well known
Just look how happy they are to spend time together!
Kate is known for
Dressing your young daughter in pristine white would be a no-no for any mother with hands on experience of raising a child.
Children are meant to be noisy and dare I say it mucky. This outfit looks like a return to the sit still, children should be seen and not heard school of thought.
I can't decide which one looks unhappier to be stuck with the other.
BUT on the whole it's the little girl I feel sorry for after all we can't choose our mothers but at least she isn't likely to have to see her mother for the rest of the year.
Not if her life up till now is any indication.

Eye see pain!
I've had terrible diarrhoea today, the type that is pure liquid and that you can't hold in no matter what.
I've had this for a couple of days now along with heartburn & a spot blazing like a belisha beacon right on the edge of my nostril.
you can see why my fella stays with me it's my sexyness and attractiveness obviously. What do you mean? No? Why not? lol!
Well, on about my eleventy-hundredth trip to the loo I not quite make it to the loo which is degrading and bad enough but I also.............
let's not mention the fact I didn't make it ever again please? Pretty please? Pretty please with sugar on top?
Somehow I either stood up and fell or I blacked out and fell, I have no memory of it at all but I was on the ground with blood gushing out my eye.
It looks like I may have hit the bathroom door with my eye.
Blood was gushing everywhere but on the plus side I'd stopped pooing.
Yay me

Robin heard the thud / crash / deafening bump and came racing up the stairs to the loo only to find me sprawled on the floor wearing soiled pants around my ankles and gushing blood out of my eye
it's never, ever boring living with me I tell ya!
So we both get me cleaned up and stop the gushing, geyser that is currently my eye.
This involves lot's of cold water, pressure and the headache from hell (the kind of headache that Britney would be if she was spokeswoman for La Senza or Prozac).
I've been fine since no toilet stops or slips / blackouts. No double vision, just a mega headache that runs from my eyebrow to my jaw.
I could have fun with this black eye though. My fella is tall and broad and I'm sure people will think he did it but it's not something to play on. It happens to too many women daily for me to ever make fun of domestic violence. So, I'll tell the truth (minus the poop bit obviously) and lap up and sympathy I can get.
Sympathy can be donated in the form of cold, hard cash by phoning 0987givemeall.
All donations gratefully accepted, none refused.
AND how was YOUR day?
lol

The Visitor
I'm a murderer.
Yes, you read it write I am a big, not at all sorry murderer.
I killed tonight and I will kill any other family members or friends I see near me or my home.
This is my confession and my vow.
This is the victim, I don't know his name so let's call him "George" or how about "Blair"?

This is one of the problems of living in the country specially once the weather starts getting warmer. Let all visions of rosy, comfy countryside disappear from your minds forever. This is the reality.
Living rurally means lots of trees, bushes, fields and peoples dumped rubbish.
Living rurally means insects, lots of insects, bugs, spiders, creepy crawly things.
Opposite my home is fields and farm land, horses are ridden past my garden gate and there are trees and bushes near, very near that are starting to be inhabited by the most disgusting bugs and flying things imaginable.
It's impossible to keep them all out as houses do need fresh air blowing through occasionally, 4 year old boys need to play in the garden. Housing association home are built pretty shoddily and our doors and windows have permanent gaps that let in more than just wind (due to poor workmanship).
It's time to get my summer supplies ready (no, not suncream).
- Ant powder.
- Salt.
- Powder bleach.
- Heavy book (spiders).
- Fly spray.
- My mum on the phone for sympathy and shared disgust /horror.
Trapped, never-ending pain.

I've been in
It hurts to breathe, it hurts to not breathe.
I have so much trapped wind I'm a wet dream for Richard Branson and his balloon flights. I hurt from my throat to my tummy and the nausea is only getting worse along with the pain and difficulty in breathing.
How on earth can such a little bit of wind cause so much pain and hurt?
Why isn't my gaviscon, (you know the one that gives 100% relief) working even a tiny bit?
Why can't I just do a trailer trash, red neck burp and feel better?
I hurt too much to be polite.

Mess
It's not even a losing battle it's more like I'm being slaughtered by the King of messapotamia.
Constantly.
Non-stop.
Never ending.

Finally It's Spring.

Spring.
Friday, 14 March 2008
Why? Who? Where? When?

Why would anyone wear these?
If it's cold enough for boots then why would you want your toes to brave the freezing cold or even worse the ice cold rain?
If it's hot enough for open toed footwear then why would you want to encase your ankles in leather so they become sweaty and uncomfortable.
Who would wear these?
You would have to be a "real" fashion victim to wear these and also not mind either sweaty, hot ankles or freezing cold and wet toes.
Where would anyone wear these>
I can't imagine these being worn anywhere but on the runway. The cold, discomfort or the sweaty, heat would be a big no-no for most of us. Surely?
When would you wear these?
I can't imagine a time I would wear these. I can't imagine anyone wearing these off-stage or catwalk. I guess the answer is never unless you know different?

Diabetic Joys And Hell.
Diabetes isn't all injections and no chocolate. It's a lot worse than that!
There are many “joys” and I use that word advisedly in being an insulin dependent diabetic. There’s the joy of injecting yourself with insulin, having to eat at certain times and having to severely ration sugar intake mainly by never or rarely eating chocolate, candy and calorific treats like donuts. Then there’s the fact that diabetes by its very nature makes losing weight almost impossible because you have to eat a certain amount of carbohydrates each meal and a salad just wont cut it. The worst thing of all (in my opinion) is the way my body and mind (possibly my soul too) react when I have a severe lack of glucose and/or carbohydrate in my body.
Normally diabetics get warning symptoms before a low blood sugar episode and these include a headache behind the eye, shaking, slurring words and being unable to think as the mind turns to cotton wool. After many years and almost three decades of having diabetes I no longer get the advance warning signs. This is dangerous for me as it leaves me no opportunity to stop an attack by quickly eating some glucose or sugar and I generally only know when I have had a low sugar episode after the event when everyone delights in telling me how I made a fool of myself. I never have any memory of these episodes and the time is just a blank never to be recovered which is frightening to be honest.
I had an episode this morning and the first I knew of it was when I was moaning and groaning and not in a good way in bed. I am drenched in a cold sweat and have no co-ordination. I cannot speak because I can’t move my tongue to form words, my legs and arms won’t move in the direction I want them to. I am as helpless as a new born baby. I’m always freezing cold when I come out of an episode and to say I feel bad is the biggest understatement ever. If you can imagine being tortured for ten years non stop then getting the flu and then running a full marathon while headbutting a concrete wall you will only be imagining half of how bad I feel. See what I mean about joy?
Usually an amulance has been called to get me back to the land of the living and the ambulance men have injected me with liquid glucose. Yet another injection to add to the four insulin injections I have to take daily.
When in the middle of an episode, diabetics can get violent, well until the co-ordination goes they can and I have done this on a couple of occasions. I’ve kicked an emergency room doctor in the nether region and even punched my own mother in the face. This is never done on purpose and once back to normal I am ashamed and embarassed by it. I hate myself for having done that even though I know it wasn’t done on purpose in any way. It’s so much easier to forgive others than it is to forgive yourself. Have you ever noticed that?
One time when I was living on my own and around twenty years old this episode happened to me. It took me three hours to crawl to the lounge and get to the telephone. I crawled along the carpet mainly by dragging myself along the carpet when co-ordination would let me. This crawling was made more difficult by my kitten who had decided the best thing to do was dig her sharp claws into my shoulder and cling on for dear life.
Hours later I finally manage to dial emergency and manage to moan incoherently down the phone to the operater who stayed on the phone trying to find out about me like had I been shot or stabbed? while both the police and ambulance men got to me.
The police arrived first and had to body slam the front door to get in where they found a twenty year old me, completely stark naked and covered in carpet burns (through dragging myself over the carpet). Did I mention the fact I was also covered in vomit and had wet myself.
Mmmmm not a vision of lovelyness.
The policemen who were both twenty-one at the most covered me up with one of their coats till the ambulance men arrived and properly brought me back to the land of the living.
Add to these "joys and fun experiences" is the fact that a badly controlled diabetic can end up with having feet amputated, slipping into a coma, blindness and suffer liver and kidney failure. A pregnant diabetic usually has a larger baby than non diabetics, and that just about sums up my luck.
So there you have it the joys of diabetes. Bet you’re glad you don’t have it lol.
Budget Smudget.

It's budget day here in the increasingly over-priced U.K and this years budget has done nothing to help the millions of Brits teetering on the edge of bankruptcy, unable to even put decent food on the table.
Just look at what we'll be paying now:
The Chancellor set out plans to overhaul vehicle excise duty and introduce a new "showroom tax" to hit the drivers of the most polluting vehicles.
At the same time he put up alcohol duties by 6% above inflation.
As a result beer will go up 4p a pint
cider 3p a litre
wine 14p a bottle
spirits 55p a bottle
A packet of 20 cigarettes will cost another 11p, making the average price £4.60
($9.20 US dollars).
while a packet of five cigars will cost an extra 4p.
Mr Darling also warned he would impose a charge on disposable plastic bags unless retailers took action to curb their use.
However, his attempts to establish his "green" credentials were hampered by the decision to defer a planned 2p increase in fuel duty. Fuel is currently £104.9 a litre ($2.08 US dollars).
It was due to come in on April 1 but has been postponed until October 1.
Mr Darling said his "responsible" measures would enable him to take further measures to cut child poverty.
Quite how this will end child poverty when it will mean we have to pay more for everything giving us less for more money is anyones guess.
Like all politicians he has hit the poorest, less able to afford the higher prices which is pretty much a daily occurance

Logical Milk.
Mom, you know you get milk from a cow. A baby cow drinks her mommy’s milk too.”
“Yes, you are right.” Here I am thinking she’s figured out something about farm animals.
“You feed Little A with your milk though.” She replies looking a bit confused.
“Yes, I do.”
“We drink milk. Milk is from cows.” She gets the biggest grin at first, then suddenly her face turns to a frown. “Are you a cow?”
Ummmmmm. Now how do you explain that one?

Things I'd Like To Get Paid For.
I would love to earn money for these things because I do, say or think them a lot. It would be a validation of sorts and even better it would be financially profitable.
So here's a mini list of things I'd like to be paid for (this list is subject to thousands of additions).
SLEEPING.
I could enter the sleep olympics and win triple platinum gold encrusted with flawless diamonds. I can happily sleep for over twelve hours and still want more. I don't think it's because my dream lives are always so much better than the reality because not all my days suck, contrary to popular belief.
GIVING MY OPINION.
I'm one of those awful people who is always right. I don't mean I think I'm right I mean I am right. This may be because the two people I tend to have a different opinion from are my husband and son (both males, need I say more?).
I would love to be able to go up to someone and just say "your bum is huge in that dress" or "women your size shouldn't wear lycra and crop tops" or "you might think you look good without your shirt (to a guy)but I can smell your body odour from over there please get some personal hygiene" Can you imagine the joy in being able to say things like that without being beaten up and instead you get paid for it?
COMPLAINING.
I'm not talking about complaining about bad sevice or a shoddy product here but the whining moaning type of complaining that I do so well and so constantly.
"I'm cold".
"I hurt....."
"Why must you ..........."
I'm always in pain and I'm always freezing cold so being paid for this would be great. I always complain (to head office never the place it happened) about a shoddy product or service. In the last six months alone I've had a free £10 voucher for Pizza Hut (admittedly the service was disgusting and the manageress, a twenty year old only interested in chatting up the male customers)and a free meal for four at McDonalds.
SAYING "NO","STOP THAT","GO TO SLEEP","BEHAVE" AND OTHER JOYS.
My son has reached that allegedly adorable stage where misbehaving and being naughty is the only way to behave and when you add to that being mouthy, not saying please or thank you, blatantly disobeying me, ignoring me and refusing to do what I ask it is understandable why I spend my life saying the phrases I wrote above.
GOING ONLINE.
With the amount of time I spend online all my money worries would be over if I could just get paid for playing on my laptop.
SHAVING MY LEGS.
This is a pain in the butt, it's time consuming, boring and I always cut myself. It's so much easier to just bung on a pair of trousers. If I was paid to shave my legs then chances are I wouldn't have legs that currently resemble the Amazon rain-forest.
WATCHING U.S TV SHOWS.
If I'm watching tv then the chances are it will be an American made show usually a drama type show as the Americans tend to do them very well. I love watching my regular shows and I'm listing them here (because I can, so there).
1) Law And Order (with Jerry Orbach).
2) Law And Order (SVU - special victims unit).
3) Criminal Minds.
4) Cold Case.
5) Without A Trace.
6) House.
7) C.S.I (Vegas is best).
8) America's Next Top Model.
9) Little House On The Prairie.
10) Crossing Jordan.
What do you wish you were paid for?
